15th International Biomedical Research into ME Colloquium (BRMEC15)
Dates: 27–29 May 2026
Location: Hinxton Hall, United Kingdom
Organised by: Invest in ME Research

The 15th Biomedical Research into ME Colloquium (#BRMEC15) marks the 15th gathering of international researchers dedicated to advancing the understanding of Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME). This closed symposium provides a platform for sharing data and ideas in confidence, fostering collaboration among scientists and clinicians worldwide.

Conference Theme

The theme for #BRMEC15 is currently under development. We are working to finalise a focus that reflects the latest advancements and priorities in ME research.
Details will be announced in due course.

The event offers a unique platform for researchers, clinicians, and early-career scientists to engage with the latest developments in ME research, fostering collaboration and driving innovation in this critical field.

Programme

The colloquium will commence at approximately 08:45 each day, starting on Wednesday, 27 May, and will conclude at approximately 16:00 on 29 May.

On the evenings of 28 and 29 May, a dinner will be arranged for registered delegates to provide additional opportunities for networking and discussion.

The programme will cover a range of compelling topics, including:

  • Systems Biology of ME
  • Epidemiology of ME and Long Covid
  • Host-Virus Interaction: ME and Long Covid
  • CNS and Imaging
  • Mitochondrial Dysfunction and Metabolomics
  • ANS and Autoimmunity
  • Microbiome
  • Orthostatic Intolerance and Autonomic Physiology
  • Therapies and Treatments
  • AI and Bioinformatics
  • Research Updates
  • Multiple Chaired Discussions

The programme for BRMEC15 is under development. We aim to curate a comprehensive agenda that includes keynote presentations and panel discussions covering various aspects of ME research.
The finalised programme will be shared here over the next months.

Registration

The annual Invest in ME Research International Biomedical Research Colloquium is a closed symposium for researchers to share data and ideas in confidence in the quest to unravel the complexities of ME.

We are interested in progressing our goals of encouraging international collaboration in investigating this disease which will lead to discovery of aetiology and/or development of effective treatments.

For biomedical researchers who are interested in participating in the BRMEC* Colloquiums then please use our registration request form, or contact us for further information.
We also invite participation from researchers from outside the field of ME who may bring valuable insights to assist our dedicated researchers in this important journey

Venue

The conference will take place on the Wellcome Genome Campus at Hinxton Hall, near Cambridgeshire. Hinxton Hall

Hinxton Hall has been the venue for a number of Invest in ME Research colloquia and provides a dedicated environment for scientific meetings. Situated within the historic grounds of the Wellcome Genome Campus, it offers excellent facilities for collaboration and discussion, with convenient links to Cambridge, London, and international transport hubs.

Hinxton Hall Conference Centre is located on the Wellcome Genome Campus, alongside research institutions that are at the forefront of the genomics revolution. Hinxton Hall Conference Centre blends stunning contemporary architecture with state-of-the-art facilities, alongside a Grade II* listed country house, all set within a beautiful, rural 100 acre estate bordering the River Cam.

This location is near to Cambridge as well as a short drive from London Stansted airport.
There is also a direct link to London Stansted from central London.
This venue offers a number of advantages for assisting in our objectives of building collaboration and expanding knowledge.

Abstract Submission

For researchers at accredited institutes who are interested in submitting an abstract of their research for consideration then please use the link below. Please bear in mind that any submissions must align with the objectives and theme of the Colloquium (please read Overview). Submissions will be reviewed by the colloquium committee.

Poster Presentations

As part of BRMEC15, there will be an opportunity for researchers and clinicians to present posters on current biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).

Poster sessions allow investigators to share preliminary results, explore new hypotheses, and encourage discussion and networking among colleagues. They also provide an important way for early-career researchers to engage with the wider scientific community.

Further details regarding poster submission, guidelines, and deadlines will be announced in due course.

Sponsorship

The 15th International Biomedical Research into ME Colloquium (BRMEC15) in 2026 coincides with the 20th anniversary of Invest in ME Research.
For two decades the charity has been dedicated to building international collaboration, raising awareness, and investing in high-quality biomedical research into Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (ME).

Sponsorship of BRMEC15 offers organisations and individuals an opportunity to support this important scientific meeting. Although the colloquium itself is a closed scientific meeting, sponsorship of BRMEC15 is an opportunity to support this important work. By sponsoring the colloquium, you will:

  • Support the progress and development of high-quality biomedical research into ME
  • Support the exchange of knowledge among researchers and clinicians from around the world
  • Demonstrate your organisation’s commitment to advancing understanding of ME and related conditions
  • Help sustain a forum that has, over many years, encouraged cooperation and innovation in this neglected field
  • Contribute directly to sustaining a unique international platform that enables collaboration and progress in this neglected area of medicine
  • Be acknowledged on the BRMEC15 webpages, social media sites and in associated materials

We welcome enquiries from individuals, organisations, and institutions who wish to help ensure this important meeting continues.

Your sponsorship will not only help make BRMEC15 possible but will also strengthen the international research community and benefit people with ME by supporting the progress of science.

Please contact us if interested in becoming a sponsor of the conference week and supporter of the work of Invest in ME Research
