Professor Andrew Wilson

Andrew Wilson is a Clinical Senior Lecturer in Respiratory Health at the University of East Anglia and Honorary Consultant Physician at Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital. While his primary research focus is not ME, Professor Wilson brings extensive expertise in the *design and conduct of clinical trials*, particularly for respiratory diseases such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and asthma. He has significant experience in innovative trial design, remote assessment methods, and large-scale multi-centre studies, having led nationally recognized projects funded by the National Institute for Health Research. His background includes integrating new biomarker research into trials and evaluating symptom management—including fatigue, which is relevant to many chronic illnesses. Professor Wilson’s broad perspective on organizing and analyzing complex trials, plus his leadership in national research networks, offers valuable insights for improving trial methodologies within the ME research community.
