Invest in ME Research
Christmas Fund Appeal Advent Calendar

Invest in ME Research is an independent UK charity finding, funding and facilitating a strategy of biomedical research into ME, and promoting better education about the disease.
The charity is run by volunteers - patients or parents of children with ME - with no paid staff.

The charity and its supporters have raised over £2 million to fund biomedical research into ME and facilitate research collaboration since it was formed.
We need to raise more to develop our strategy of high-quality biomedical research into ME and consolidate the Centre of Excellence model.

Our strategy aims to fund young, early career and experienced, researchers and to encourage research into ME.

With the hub of research based in Norwich Research Park, which is home to over 12,000 people including 3,000 researchers and clinicians with an annual research spend of over £130 million, the opportunities for maintaining this strategy allied to our work in developing European and international collaboration provide great hope for treating this disease.

Over this Christmas and New Year period we are hoping to raise additional funds to support the continued development of the programme of collaborative research with our European colleagues in building research capacity on this continent and further developing the UK/European Centre of Excellence for ME hub.

Thank you for your support

Our funding ambition this Christmas period is whatever we can achieve - times are very difficult for all and will continue to be so.
These last years have been so dreadful, and too often tragic, for so many people so we set no target - and thankfully welcome whatever support can be found.

The pandemic still affects the planned RESTORE-ME clinical trial - the only clinical trial for ME in theUK, and one of only a handful in the world.
Donations fund research and research is the key to treatments being developed and change being made.
Invest in ME Research is a charity of volunteers with no funds used for salaries and all funds devoted to finding, funding and facilitating biomedical research into ME.

We hope to turn the Christmas tree on the left green by Christmas day.

However, for all the hope to achieve our target, the greater wish we have at this time of year is for people with ME to have some respite from this disease and to can retain hope for better days.

For this holiday season we welcome support to help us provide new opportunities - and hope - for people with ME.

Our great thanks to those who have helped us during the year and those who are helping us to continue to change how ME is treated and researched.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
